Re: White Plains Birthday Parties

Not sure what your budget is but we went to a few birthday parties at Leaping Lizards in Port Chester which was a lot of fun for the kids. There's also a place called Kids U which I haven't been to but heard good things about. I think they have all kinds of activities there. The bowling alley on Tar...

Re: Turkish in Hartsdale?

I read that it opened, but the review I saw was not stellar. I usually give places a few months to get their act together before judging them though. I hope they succeed because we love Turkish food!

Ridgeway Pickup/Dropoff

We are new Ridgeway School parents and thought for the first year we would try drop off/pickup rather than the bus. The first week was pretty bad and its a little bit better now, but does anyone know if it will get faster than this? Sometimes I have to wait for a half hour in the car to pick up in t...

WP Playgrounds

We have a five year old and for playgrounds usually either go to the one on Bryant Ave (Druss?) or Saxon Woods. If we're feeling adventurous we sometimes take a drive down to Mamaroneck playground which is also great. Does anyone know of any other good ones in the area?

Thanks...

Re: Lawn refuse

They took ours on the regular garbage day which I was pleased about. Now another question - someone told me that the city offers some kind of mulch for free - as long as you can take it away yourself. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it worth it, or better to just stick with a nursery or Hom...

Re: Question about Pre-K

I read something on LoHud that they were thinking of outsourcing it possibly. I don't really understand what that means, or what the program will look like. I hope they keep it around though because I think that public pre-k is a big selling point for families thinking about moving here. My friends ...

Aberdeen Restaurant?

Has anyone tried that Chinese restaurant Aberdeen on Barker Ave? Supposedly it's great authentic Chinese food, and was voted the best dim-sum in Westchester for several years. I'm tempted to try it out. Haven't been that happy with the other Chinese food choices around. We usually order from David K...

Area summer camps

Does anyone have any suggestions for good summer day camps near WP? My daughter is going into 2nd grade and was looking for something fun and not too competitive. I heard good things about Breezemont and Mount Tom but wanted to know if anyone else has any other suggestions?

Thanks!
